Valtellina Wineries
Valtellina is the hidden gem of Italy and play a huge role in the Lombardy cuisine. Located roughly an hour away from our Award-Winning Hotel, this region is known as the home to some of the best wineries in the world. You can visit these wineries and go on a guided tour to learn more about how they work - and of course, give the fine wines a taste! You may even spot a few of the wines we sell in our Ristorante Albergo Miramonti.
LA GATTA
“surreal views of the Valtellina Landscape”
Built in the 1500s the Dominican convent homed the aristocratic de Gatti family - hence the vineyard’s name. Back in 1969, the Triacca family turned the place into a successful winery and now produce 30 acres of the famous Nebbiolo grapes. You can even enjoy a traditional Valtellina country lunch - with surreal views of the Valtellina landscape. Their alfresco lounge serves estate wines with a selection of locally produced cold meats and cheese. Open from the 1st April to the 28th October and you can go on a guided tour any day (excluding public holidays). You must book in advance! Please see the La Gatta site to check the opening times.
ARPEPE

Run by a family of winemakers for over 150 years, this winery likes to take the traditional approach. With the whole process being carried out by hand, they tailor their vinification technique each year - even if that means some labels don’t make it to the public. Their passion lies towards the cultivation of the famous Nebbiolo grapes, known for producing powerful tasting wines. SANDRO FAY

Founded in 1973, The Sandro Fay winery started as a small family-run business. Since then they have become the producers of multi-award winning wines that are sold all over the world. The owner's daughter offers tours and tastings to the public, so you can catch a glimpse behind the scenes of Sandro Fay.
NINO NEGRI
“known as the areas biggest estate”
This winery dates back to 1897. Spread across 4 of the 5 wine districts of Valtellina, it’s known as the areas biggest estate. Offering tours and tasting sessions to lucky visitors - you can learn all about how they combine tradition and technology in their production process.
