The Bernina Express is the most spectacular way that you can travel across the alps. Reaching the highest altitude of all the railways in Europe, it travels through the gleaming glaciers of the alpine landscape until it descends into the palms of Italy. This outstandingly remarkable little red train gives you the chance to catch some surreal views of the surrounding scenery. It’s an unsurprisingly popular activity among Albergo Miramonti guests. The rail link builds bridges between the stunning Valtellina region and the Canton Ticino  - please remember that if you are planning to cross borders you must bring your passport!

The rail has been awarded UNESCO status due to its outstanding beauty and aesthetic significance - honouring the significance of the train in Northern Italian culture. Through the panoramic windows, you’ll get a glimpse of some spectacular vistas throughout your journey. The Bernina section of the track demonstrates work of master civil engineers. They made the blend of landscape and railway look effortless.
